Job Type: Full-time Permanent
We are seeking an Intermediate Automation Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of automation systems within our production environment. This role will play a key part in implementing automation solutions, troubleshooting equipment, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Design, program, test, and deploy automated systems, including robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems.
- Contribute to electrical design activities such as component selection, panel layout, and schematic preparation.
- Participate in the installation, commissioning, and validation of new automated equipment.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root cause analysis on automation and control systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including system designs, operation manuals, SOPs, and technical reports.
- Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance staff.
- Conduct routine maintenance and monitor system performance to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualification:
- Post-secondary education in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automation or industrial controls (internship or co-op experience considered an asset).
- Proficient in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Hands-on experience with pneumatics, motors, and control hardware.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
