Job Posting – Colour Match & QC Technician

Permanent, Full-Time Position

We are looking for a QC technician for our client that is a global ink manufacturer and distributor that has been supplying printing inks for more than 100 years. About the Role

This position reports to the CM Lab Manager and is responsible for both colour matching and quality control activities for our Canadian Operations. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Colour Matching, and QC teams to ensure the highest level of product quality and customer satisfaction.

Candidates must be available to work 8.5-hour shifts between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., as required to meet operational needs.

What You'll Do

· Evaluate printed and wet samples of lithographic printing inks from customers and develop production formulas to recreate colours in our manufacturing facility.

· Check, test, and record formulas and sample data using our colour match software.

· Operate, calibrate, maintain, and quality-check the Epson Digital Proof Printer to produce digital ink proofs for customers.

· Conduct quality control testing on production batches to ensure compliance with specifications prior to packaging and release.

· Perform calibration and maintenance of spectrophotometers, laboratory printing equipment, and other testing instruments.

· Enter and maintain colour match, quality control, and production data in SAP.

· Update and maintain colour reference standards, production batch retain samples, and quality records.

· Work collaboratively with Production and technical team to resolve colour and quality-related issues.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory and manufacturing environment.

· Perform other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and solid computer skills.

Additional qualifications include:

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize multiple tasks.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Experience working with colour measurement instruments, laboratory testing equipment, or quality control processes is considered an asset.

· Familiarity with SAP and colour management software is considered an asset.

· Must successfully pass a colour vision test.

· Must be flexible to work and cover 8.5 hr shifts as needed during production hours of 6:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. as required.
